As old-standard surface treatment systems were pushed to meet ever-increasing performance demands, a key point of failure was the corona transformer. Heat and insulation breakdown were chronic causes of malfunction. Performance problems were compounded by the high cost of the old transformers and a long lead time for delivery.

As in the case of our IGBT generators, we a new standard. By taking advantage of the latest advances in soft ferrites, space age insulating film/paper, we designed, fabricated and refined the state of the art Prism/Radiant corona transformers.

The Prism™ and Radiant™ transformers are lighter than the old standard and do a much better job of heat dissipation. They are available in a 1.5 kW model featuring forced air cooling, and in oil immersion models up to 20 kW. All models are built to take the heat of heavy, constant demand. Day in and day out, they deliver the reliable performance and cost-efficiency that distinguish Encore surface treatment systems.

Encore’s corona transformers are the second key component of Prism™ and Radiant™ treatment systems. The third component is the Encore treater stations.
